Q.How do I search with a document?
A.Copy and paste any text to the box under the "search with document" tab.

Q.How do I print the list of my search results?
A.At the bottom of the search result list is a link that states, "Print the top 500 result list"

Q.Are all full-text articles free?
A.Some are and some are not. For those publishers that you have an agreement with for your subscribed journal titles, you will be able to link to the full text article. If you do not have an subscription agreement for the journal that contains the requested article then you may be provided an option to purchase the article from the publisher for an article fee. Please consult your publishers for their pricing requirements.

Q.Do I need to install any applications or plug-ins to use the web site?
A.No, the application is completely web-based and is accessible via any browser.

Q.Can I restrict my search to a particular year or limit it to a range of years?
A.Yes. Below the text box where you enter your query you will find drop down lists for your year parameters.

Q.How often is the data in mediator updated?
A.Collexis receives regular updates of data from the National Institutes of Health. Once the data is received, it is indexed and loaded within five days.


Tips and Tricks

Q.What types of documents can I use to search the "search with document" tab?
A.Any electronic file you can copy the text from. For example, you may have a research article in PDF format; you may have a medical summary typed by a nurse in MS Word; perhaps you have an experts report delivered in Word Perfect; or even the electronic transcript of a deposition.
